The Bizzarria reached its widest spread in the 18th century. At the same time, interest in the culture of ornamental citrus plants began to decrease. The typical baroque garden with its orange parterre disappeared, citrus collections were dissolved and replaced by exotic plants from distant countries.. Nevertheless, the theme of Citrus was still present in the garden literature of this period. The authors were now concerned mainly with a careful classification and an exact description of the different species.
